Some good news for state’s hotel industry

by Margaret Willard

After hotel occupancy rates in Georgia and across the nation dramatically dropped in 2020, they began to recover in early 2021, only to drop again in late December 2021. They are again on the rise in Georgia in 2022.

The hotel industry in our state got more good news with the announcement of $150 million federal impact grant awarded through Save Georgia Hotels, a program of the Georgia Hotel & Lodging Association.

The funds are to be used to rebuild the hotel and lodging workforce and help it return to pre-pandemic levels. These may include employee training, career development and financial workforce incentives.
