Space for film productions increases with opening of new studios

The hundreds of film and TV productions that film in Georgia every year now have more space.

Athena Studios, a $60 million facility and the first of its kind in Athens, opened recently with 200,000 square feet of space for film and TV production, with an additional 150,000 to come.

Lionsgate Studio Atlanta is opening a 500,000-square-foot entertainment complex with 12 sound stages in a $200 million complex operated by Great Point Studios in Douglasville in early 2024. Lionsgate is one of the largest film and TV operations in the world and it is the home of “The Hunger Games” franchise.
