Rivian, a designer and manufacturer of electric vehicles, selected Georgia as the location of its second U.S. plant. It will be located about 50 miles east of Atlanta off I-20 in the Stanton Springs North development.
Construction on the 2,000-acre site will begin this summer with the production of the first trucks scheduled for 2024. The plant will have the capacity to produce 400,000 trucks a year and will create approximately 7,500 jobs.
The $5 billion project is the largest single economic development project and reflects efforts of a statewide initiative to make Georgia a leader in the automobile industry.
