“It’s not a baseball game, it’s a circus,” one fan said about the unorthodox, vastly entertaining Savannah Bananas. That was the idea.
Co-owners Emily and Jesse Cole started the team in 2016 with the goal to make baseball fun to attract more fans. They have been rewarded with consistently sold-out games in the 4,000-seat historic Grayson Stadium with fans all over the world.
Fans enjoy the break-dancing first-base coach, players’ choreographed dances, male cheerleading teams, senior citizen dance team, lively tunes of the pep band, antics of the mascot Split and cheers led by Jesse sporting his signature yellow tux.
