What I learned when our HVAC went out

by The 100 Companies

My son Dylan and I hunkered down for a week of hard work in our apartment, which serves as our home offices, when our HVAC died.

It’s been in the high 90s in Georgia. We complained and registered maintenance requests five days straight. We learned big corporate multifamily owners don’t take responsibility. My advice: Pick your landlord wisely.

Dylan, sitting with his girlfriend with icepacks on their heads, offered this: Views are great on the top floor and there’s no one stomping across our ceiling, but when the HVAC goes, a basement apartment rules. Our two-year lease is done. Us too.
