From rap to opera, Georgia artists bring home Grammys

by The 100 Companies

Our state was well represented with wins by talented artists at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. Rappers T.I. and Ludacris each won two Grammys. Gnarls Barkley, a cleverly named duo with singer-rapper Cee-Lo Green, won two of the gilded gramophones.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and conductor Robert Spano both won Grammys, marking the 27th award for ASO and the fourth for Spano.

The late Ossie Davis and former President Jimmy Carter both won a Grammy in the spoken word category. It was Carter’s third win out of nine nominations.

Johnta Austin, Bryan-Michael Cox and Jason Perry won for songwriting.
