In less time than it takes us to get across town from our home in Atlanta we were driving up the tree-lined entrance of Foxhall Resort, an idyllic 1100-acre resort in Douglasville, Georgia. Although it was a short one-night getaway, we packed in a lot of relaxation, a delicious meal and miles of hiking through rolling countryside and along the Chattahoochee River.
We stayed in a two-bedroom villa with a kitchenette and a balcony overlooking the lake. We made good use of that by enjoying an evening beverage and watching the sun go down.
