by The 100 Companies

More than 168 million people visited Georgia in 2022. They spent $40 billion, for an economic impact of $73 billion, the highest number in state history. More than 838,700 of those were international visitors, an increase of 136% over 2019.

The numbers that were reported at the recent Governor’s Tourism Conference put Georgia at No. 5 for overnight domestic visits in the country for the fourth year in a row. States with higher numbers are Florida, New York, California and Texas. We are No. 7 for the number of domestic day trips.

Georgia officials credit the travel industry with supporting 442,600 jobs.
