Atlanta United fans cheered the team to victory in the 2019 U.S. Open Cup. Although it was eliminated this year in the fourth round with a defeat to Nashville SC, fans still have plenty to be excited about with the announcement that Atlanta was selected as a host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Sixteen cities were selected to host the most prestigious soccer competition in the world – 11 in the U.S., three in Mexico and two in Canada. FIFA will announce at a later date how many and which rounds will be played in each city.
