Engender; I love this word. It means: to cause, to develop, to originate. Leaders engender amazing possibilities for their teams to grow and thrive. However, engendering an environment of accountability can be one of the most challenging to cultivate.

When the people you’re leading can count on you to act consistent with company values and what you have given your word to, they can trust you when you call on them to be accountable for their performance. But when leaders don’t act with integrity, why should they?
