Some Georgia highways will get a lot smoother and new bridges will be built, thanks to 31 projects that were funded by the Georgia Department of Transportation in December, worth more than $150.3 million.
The largest amount went to E.R. Snell Contractor. It received $16 million to complete projects that include resurfacing a portion of U.S. Route 20/Georgia Highway 402 from west of Columbia Drive to the Rockdale-DeKalb county line.
Funding also went to other highway resurfacing projects, bridge construction projects and safety projects.
The December awards bring the total construction contracts for fiscal 2023 to $936.5 million.
