“Paddle twice on your left. Now get down in hot tub position,” our guide instructed. We crouched down and hit the rapids, delighting in the cold water splashing in our raft.
We were on a two-hour trip with Whitewater Express Chattahoochee in Columbus, the longest urban whitewater rafting in the world. The Classic trip took us 2.5 miles down the Chattahoochee, over I-III level rapids. Between rapids, we enjoyed the scenery, including sightings of turtles, heron and even a bald eagle.
Other trips include the Challenge, and for even more thrills, the Carnage. These include rapids up to level V.
