Legacy Chapel opens another nation’s first for Georgia

by The 100 Companies

There’s a new category for which Atlanta influences everything – mausoleums – at historic Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, Georgia. The cemetery’s new Legacy Chapel now offers the nation’s first permanent resting place with illuminated glass-front cremation niches in which family members may display and view their loved one’s cherished mementos or keepsakes.

The new design addresses a growing trend: According to the National Funeral Directors Association 2024 Cremation and Burial Report, an annual summary of funeral industry trends, U.S. cremation rates are expected to increase significantly, reaching 82.1% by 2045 as burial rates steadily drop.
