Oldest restaurant in Georgia changed with the times

by The 100 Companies

The Plaza Restaurant & Oyster Bar opened in 1916, a cozy space seating 26 guests at white marble tables. First located at 115 North Broad St., it outgrew the space over the years. Today, guests can visit the restaurant at the corner of Broad and Smith.

In 2007, a Manhattan-born New York chef and restauranteur purchased The Plaza, sights set on improving it. Guests can enjoy formal and casual dining, entertainment, a cocktail lounge and outdoor seating. The menu includes oysters, steaks, seafood and Greek chicken, a nod to the previous owners, many of Greek heritage. The Plaza is open daily.
