Historic sport with headquarters in Georgia

by The 100 Companies

While we don’t know for certain who invented disc golf, it has been an official sport for over half a century. The sport grew over the years, eventually leading to the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA). This organization spearheaded the International Disc Golf Center, located at Wildwood Park in Appling, Georgia.

Opened in 2007, this facility has everything a disc golf enthusiast needs:

Clubhouse

Disc Golf Hall of Fame

Ed Headrick Memorial Museum

Multiple putting greens

Three championship level courses

Pro shop

What started with recreational classes in the 1960s has grown into an international sport, headquartered here in Georgia.
