Famed folk artist and preacher Howard Finster started Paradise Garden in Summerville in 1970 as a memorial to inventors and it grew to a four-acre art environment.
Although he died in 2001, Paradise Garden is open year-round and is the location for the annual two-day Finster Fest, held this year on Sept. 21 and 22.
The festival will feature more than 70 folk, craft and fine artists from the South, live music and dance performances on three stages and a children’s art activity area.
Southern food will be available for purchase, including sweet tea, barbecue ribs, chicken and pimento cheese sandwiches.
