While the heyday of drive-in movie theaters is over – Georgia once had 130 of them – you can still catch a movie without ever leaving your car at these five locations:
• Tiger Drive-in, Tiger – First opened in 1954, Tiger Drive-in shows first-run movies.
• Swan Drive-in Theater, Blue Ridge – Place a food order with a car hop at this drive-in, open since 1955.
• Jesup Drive-in, Jesup – Georgia’s oldest drive-in, it opened in 1948.
• Wilderness Theater, Trenton – This theater, opened in 2005, claims to have the largest outdoor screen in the world.
• Starlight Drive-in, Atlanta – Opened in 1949, this art deco-style theater has four screens.
