by The 100 Companies

Absolics broke ground on a $600 million manufacturing site in Covington that is expected to bring 400 jobs to our state.

Absolics is an operating company of SK Group and South Korea’s second-largest conglomerate. Its first product will be glass substrate, a thin piece of glass used to house different semiconductor components that it developed in partnership with Georgia Tech. The substrate is considered a breakthrough for the semiconductor industry.

The Georgia facility will be built in two phases. The first is expected to be completed at the end of 2023 with production starting in the second quarter of 2024.
