Turn over a new leaf at Georgia’s state parks

Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources invites Georgians to explore the majesty of the state’s parks and historical sites during fall’s Turn Over a New Leaf event series.

Helen’s Smithgall Woods State Park leads a nighttime hike to learn about the legends of the Appalachian mountains during Trick or Trot on Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m.

Nature and art lovers will want to head to Pine Mountain’s F.D. Roosevelt State Park on Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. to learn to paint with the unique canvas of bark.

Tallulah Gorge Park also hosts a campfire treat series through November.
