New technology helps schools prevent spread of contagious illnesses

by The 100 Companies

With the outbreak of COVID-19 and concerns over monkeypox, we’re all too familiar with the spread of contagious illnesses. Now dozens of local schools are taking preventative measures by using technology to monitor and curb the spread of illnesses such as COVID-19, strep throat, flu and more.

The FLUency program, the largest program of its kind, uses Kinsa smart thermometers to track fever-related outbreaks in real-time – allowing schools to take preventative action. Information from thermometer checks is anonymously aggregated into an online dashboard allowing insight into health trends at each grade level.

Schools can apply to participate in the program.
