Everything’s peachy at the 36th Georgia Peach Festival

by The 100 Companies

Grab a spoon and get a free taste of the world’s largest peach cobbler, which measures 11′ by 5′. That’s just one of the ways to celebrate our official state fruit at the 36th Annual Georgia Peach Festival.

The festival, which will be held June 3-4 in Fort Valley and June 11 in Byron, includes a parade, fireworks, live music and entertainment, helicopter rides, dancing, introductions of the Peach Queens and an eat-a-peach contest.

Peach season in Georgia runs from around mid-May to early August, with 40 different varieties. The most popular are clingstone, free stone and the hybrid semi-free.
