Some sectors of our economy may have been a bit down in 2021, but the film industry in Georgia was booming last year.
The film and television industry had a record-breaking year, with $4 billion spent on productions in fiscal 2021. Georgia was the top state for production for the eighth year in a row.
There were a whopping 366 productions filmed here; 21 feature films, 45 independent films, 57 commercials, 21 music videos and 222 television and episodic productions.
One reason for the volume is the Georgia Film Office provided productions the first best practices for filming during the pandemic.
